After successfully returning from hand surgery, Phoenix Suns rising star Devin Booker hurt himself yet again during his team's matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Booker sustained the injury as the third quarter was about to end. He attempted a hard drive to the basket after a handoff from Tyson Chandler but failed to complete the play.

Suns PR released an update on Booker and announced that he won't be returning to the ballgame due to a strained left hamstring.

Devin Booker had played 29 minutes and tallied a total of 23 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists. Ironically, Houston Rockets superstar James Harden also went down on the same night with a hamstring injury. The Suns are expecting to utilize Booker in the same way Houston plays Harden given the team's glaring hole at the point guard position.

Sans Booker, Phoenix had no chance against the Lakers who are hungry to get their first win of the year and victory No.1 for LeBron James' purple and gold career. The Suns lost the game 131-113.

Rookie center Deandre Ayton had a good account for himself with 22 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocks. The Suns will take a few days off before facing the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday.
