Phoenix Suns point guard Chris Paul has been the elder statesman of NBA point guards for a while now. One of the many young floor generals who take after his tendencies is Ja Morant.
Morant isn't up next on the list of up-and-coming star point guards: he's already there. The Memphis Grizzlies' youngster is leading his team to one of the league's best records. Although his reliance on his insane vertical and explosiveness is a different style than Paul, his tremendous playmaking and leadership align more with how Paul impacts the game.
After pulling out one of Paul's signature moves during his career game against the Chicago Bulls — spinning the ball as he dribbled in a motion that looks like he's throwing a yo-yo — Morant gave CP3 a shootout. The Suns' star shot him one right back.

Although Paul is sidelined with a hand injury, he may get the chance to see Morant in the playoffs. He should be ready to go by then and booth the Suns and Grizzlies could meet at some point in the conference finals or semifinals. A series between those teams would be a treat to watch, especially because of how fun it would be to see the two star point guards go at it.
Although Paul and Morant aren't very comparable in terms of their playstyles, they are both among the very best point guards in the league.
