Phoenix Suns star Chris Paul appears to have injured his shoulder again after colliding with Los Angeles Lakers swingman Wesley Matthews.
Late in the second quarter of Game 5 as Matthews tried to box out Paul, he accidentally hit him on the right shoulder. CP3 went down and writhed in pain while holding his shoulder.
Chris Paul just went down and is hurting in a big way…looks like Wes was just going in for a rebound and they collided
Absolutely nothing dirty or flagrant from Wes there

Below is a look at the incident. Obviously, it looked like it was unintentional and a traditional block out. However, Paul was livid after the collision, knowing how he has dealt with shoulder issues since the start of the Suns-Lakers series.

Fortunately, Chris Paul was able to return.
While some fans think Paul was simply acting to get a foul call, there's reason to be scared at what just transpired. The veteran point guard has suffered a shoulder injury in Game 1 of the series, and he was really ineffective after that when the Lakers won two straight games to take a 2-1 lead.
In Game 4, Paul fought through the pain and led his Suns to tie the series against the Purple and Gold. Considering that the playoffs showdown could go down to who stays healthy, Phoenix really needs to protect CP3 and keep him as healthy as possible.
