Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker has always looked up to the late Kobe Bryant. From his days growing up as a young baller to eventually playing briefly in the league with the Black Mamba, the Lakers legend has always been an idol and mentor to Book.

In a recent interview with ESPN during the NBA Finals, the Suns guard revealed what he thinks Kobe would be saying to him as he and Phoenix eye a title:

That certainly does seem like exactly what Bryant would say to Booker. The former Kentucky standout even has a “Be Legendary” tattoo on his forearm, the same message Kobe sent him when the Suns played the Lakers in the 2016 season:

A friend, a mentor, an idol. Kobe meant so much to Book and with the way he's been playing in these playoffs, it's the closest thing we've seen to Bryant in years. Booker is averaging over 27 points per game in the postseason for the Suns, dropping that same amount in a Game 1 victory on Tuesday against the Milwaukee Bucks. The way he's taken over games and hit some cold-blooded shots have looked very Kobe-esque, which is no surprise.

Devin Booker is a fierce competitor just like Kobe Bryant and we've seen that time and time again throughout the course of his Suns career. Now, he gets the chance to bring home the ultimate prize and win a title just like his big brother did on four separate occasions.
