Devin Booker knows exactly why the Phoenix Suns lost Game 3 to the Dallas Mavericks: Luka Doncic and co. simply wanted it more.

The Suns' sharpshooter admitted that they were uncharacteristic all game long. From turnovers to shooting attempts, they just didn't have that same grit and edge they showed in their dominant showings in Games 1 and 2 of the series.

However, credit should also be given to the Mavs for defending well and making sure Booker, Chris Paul and the rest of the Phoenix team won't have their way,

“It wasn’t like us. You can credit them. They came out, played hard, played desperate. But that’s that. We got a series,” Booker said, per Kellan Olson of Arizona Sports.

Devin Booker, nonetheless, is not one bit bothered by the defeat. While the series is now 2-1, they still have the lead. Plus, the Suns have experienced all sorts of situations in the playoffs before and they just have to trust themselves and what they have accomplished so far.

“Just understanding situation. Understanding that we’ve been in series’ before (when) we were up 2-0 coming to their home floor. And the people want to see more basketball games, so, we gonna play some more basketball games,” Booker said when asked about their lack of rhythm in Game 3.

Game 4 is set on Sunday, and sure enough, the Mavs cannot expect the same Suns team to face them. If anything, the latest defeat should only serve as a wakeup call for the rest of the squad.
