Devin Booker has racked up a bundle of losses during his first three seasons of professional basketball with the Phoenix Suns, and while he has risen to stardom in relatively quick fashion, the soon-to-be All-Star talent claims the time to pick up some Ws has come.

Booker just secured five-year, $158 million max extension — one that not only catapults him into a category among the NBA's highest-paid players, but also puts even more of a responsibility to take the Suns to the promised land.

“It's winning time,” said Booker, who joined Reiter's Block on CBS Sports HQ. “With that contract, and even before the contract, I felt that pressure to succeed for the city and the franchise. They took a chance on me to be that [max] guy, I know it comes with a lot of leadership and responsibility, but I think I'm built for it. I'm looking forward to next year a lot, with the additions to the team, we're in much better shape to have a much better season.”

“We're in the best shape we've been in since I've been a part of the franchise.”

The 21-year-old phenom is coming off his best season yet, showing a steady progress in his 3-point acumen and a lethal clip from the foul line (87.8 percent), along with an increased all-around involvement, increasing his assist and rebound totals after every year in the league.

The additions of veteran wing Trevor Ariza and top overall pick Deandre Ayton will play a large role in how Phoenix finishes the regular season after finishing with the worst record in the league, posting only 21 wins in 2017-18.

Certainly, there's nowhere to go but up.
