Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker continues to book himself—lame pun intended—into the NBA annals.
After struggling mightily in their Game 3 loss against the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA Finals, Booker woke up on Wednesday with vengeance in his mind. He exploded for 42 points in Game 4 on 17-of-28 shooting from the field.
Because of this, he tied a really old record for most points in NBA Finals history by a player with 10 points or fewer in the previous game. The original record was made by George Mikan in April 1949 (via ESPN Statistics & Information).
According to @EliasSports, Devin Booker already has the most points in Finals history by a player with 10 or fewer points in the previous game (previous record was 35 by George Mikan in 1949 Finals Game 3). pic.twitter.com/VQDE6iUaa3

Booker broke a record so old, Kendall Jenner's parents weren't even born at that time (Caitlyn Jenner of the Athlete Formerly Known As Bruce Jenner was born a few months later).
Booker only scored 10 points in Game 3, shooting 3-of-14 from the field. The former Kentucky standout firmly bounced back in Game 4, dropping a 40-piece even without a single three-pointer. His efforts, however, still weren't enough as the Bucks fought back from a nine-point deficit in the fourth quarter to steal the win and tie the series at 2-2.
Still, the 24-year-old Booker was astounding for the Suns, making mincemeat of the Bucks defenders, including PJ Tucker, Jrue Holiday, and Pat Connaughton—all solid stoppers in their own right.
But if there's one thing that Devin Booker learned, scoring a bunch of points won't cut it against the gritty Bucks. Maybe he can buy a Betamax on Craigslist and review old tapes of George Mikan in the 1949 NBA Finals.
