Devin Booker is part of the Team USA that will play in the Tokyo Olympics this summer. However, with his Phoenix Suns just one win away from the NBA Finals, Book might have to make some sacrifices to work things out.

Should the Suns make it to the Finals and end up playing all seven games in the championship series, Booker will have little time between the final game of the season and the start of the Olympics. Game 7 of the NBA Finals is scheduled on July 22, while the start of the Olympics basketball games is set on July 25–with the preliminaries lasting until August 2.

If that happens, though, the Suns star apparently told Team USA Director Jerry Colangelo that he is ready for the short turnaround.

“Booker called me maybe a month ago to express his great desire to be a part of the Olympics and I knew that just because of the relationship,” Colangelo said, per Duane Rankin of AZ Central. “I didn't have to say a word. He said, ‘If we get to the finals and we go all the way, I'll be on the plane the next day and I'll be there. It doesn't matter.' When you're young, you can think that way.”

For his part, Devin Booker acknowledged that it would be difficult. Nonetheless, the Suns guard refused to talk further about the issue as he keeps his focus on getting the job done in the West Finals against the Los Angeles Clippers first.

“I'm sure it's going to be a short turnaround after the season, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there,” Booker added.

It won't be a big problem for Booker and the Suns if the NBA Finals don't go all the way to seven games, especially since it will give the 24-year-old some more time to head to Tokyo for the Olympics. But considering the level of play in the East–with the Milwaukee Bucks and Atlanta Hawks duking it out–Phoenix can only expect a tightly contested affair night in and night out should they make it to the big dance.
