Patrick Beverley has been making more headlines this postseason than he did all year long. Lately, Beverley has been extremely vocal about his animosity towards the Suns and Chris Paul. Paul's former teammate and now ESPN analyst Matt Barnes has seemingly had enough of Beverley's antics and stood up for the Suns' point guard in a recent segment.
“There's a thin line between being critical and disrespecting,” Barnes said. “And I feel like what Pat Beverley did today to Chris Paul, was completely disrespectful and out of the line.”
.@Matt_Barnes22 was not a fan of Patrick Beverley's criticism of Chris Paul:

Barnes's passion is evident on this issue. Chris Paul is a former teammate and friend of his, but Barnes would probably have a similar reaction regardless of who Beverley was openly disrespecting.
Patrick Beverley referred to Chris Paul as a “traffic cone” and questioned the legitimacy of his reported injury.

Portland Trail Blazers superstar Damian Lillard offered his opinion on the Beverley-Paul situation.
Bra on TV acting like his word law. Speaking on private convos and praying on mfs downfall. This weird behavior smh 🤷🏽♂️ … I ain’t got a horse in the race https://t.co/F6Cln8BBst

Patrick Beverley's antics are not surprising to anyone. The guard has established a reputation as a hustle player on the court who isn't afraid to trash talk opponents. It has become a part of his game. And typically, it doesn't cross the line. Yes, there are people who don't appreciate it. But players have been talking trash on the court for many years now.
But people such as Matt Barnes and Damian Lillard are not afraid to speak out on Beverley straight up bashing Chris Paul and the Suns on national TV. It will be interesting to see how fellow NBA players handle playing against Beverley next season.
