On Tuesday, The New York Times’ Marc Stein reported that Phoenix Suns small forward Trevor Ariza “is seen by rival teams at the top of the list of players who will be made available,” citing league sources. Phoenix enters Tuesday with a record of 4-19 and is not going to make the playoffs this season.

So, will Trevor Ariza follow the path of veteran center Tyson Chandler and get a buyout from the Suns? That is not likely, at least according to Ariza.

“I’m not one to get somewhere and then just duck out,” Ariza told Gina Mizell of The Athletic. “I’m one to be in it, regardless of whatever the situation is. Fight until the end. That’s the type of person that I am, and that’s what I expect.”

After spending the previous four seasons with the Houston Rockets, Trevor Ariza signed a one-year, $15 million free agent deal with the Suns in July. It's safe to say both Ariza and the Rockets wish they could get a do-over. After having the best record in the NBA last season and a top-10 defense, Houston has gotten off to a bad start this year and is missing Ariza's defense and perimeter shooting.

While Trevor Ariza got paid by the Suns, he's on a team that is rebuilding and won't see the postseason. If he was still with the Rockets, Houston would probably be better than 11-12 and Ariza would be in a winning environment.

Despite Ariza's comments, his situation in Phoenix is one to monitor closely now.
