Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard just surprised a city park in Portland with free sneakers.

From Jeff Gluck's tweet, below are pictures of Lillard at the back of a U-Haul truck, giving away Adidas shoes:

Though some were surprised, Dame actually announced the giveaway via Twitter. He told all kids who wear a size 12 or 12.5 to meet him at Irving Park:

But as it turned out, Lillard didn't bring enough shoes for the people at the park. Instead of bolting on them, Lillard just offered to sign autographs. Below is a photo of Lillard signing caps, shoes, shirts, among other merchandise:

This is Lillard's first key public appearance after their disappointing playoff run. Perhaps he has safely moved on from heartbreak. In an article by Isaiah De los Santos, Steve Dewald, Dan Marang, Timmay!, TeamMom, and Ryne Buchanan for Blazer's Edge, Lillard said during his exit interview:

I don’t want to say I’m over it. But I was just disappointed last night. I got home, held my son, watched the boxing card that happened last night. It was an exciting card. Doing both of those things kind of calmed me down.

Asked on what he thinks the Blazers are lacking, Dame said:

I’m not sure. I’m sure some people will look at it and say, “well this team needs this kind of player and they need that.” But, I’m not sure, because you look around and you say, Golden State won the championship in 2015, they had Steph [Curry], they had Klay [Thompson], Draymond [Green] had a great season. Then they just had really complementary pieces. They just had guys came in and did a little bit of this, a little bit of that, and it was really done by committee. I honestly feel that our team is capable of something like that, so it’s hard for me to say.
