Portland Trail Blazers point guard clarified his “Blazers in six” comment made Wednesday night in an interview with the CSN Northwest broadcaster, who asked him to choose between “Blazers (winning) in six or seven (games)” against the Golden State Warriors in the first round of the playoffs, choosing the former.

“I was asked in six or seven (games), and I said six. It was a lighthearted exchange,” Lillard said, according to ESPN's Chris Haynes. “But with that said, I do believe we can win the series.”

ESPN's BPI indicates the contrary, but it only takes stealing a game on the road to turn those odds around.

The NBA playoffs are a different monster when it comes to chalking matchups, since much depends on in-game tempo, coaching adjustments and players' abilities to weather the storm at times.

While the Blazers have a steep road to climb, they have a puncher's chance to create an upset.

There has only been five cases of a No. 8 seed upsetting a No. 1 seed since the start of a 16-team playoff format in 1984, the most recent was the Philadelphia 76ers beating the Chicago Bulls 4-2 in 2012 after Derrick Rose suffered a torn left ACL.
