Even though Harrison Barnes managed to join the Sacramento Kings in the NBA bubble in good health and good spirits, the seasoned swingman had quite the tumultuous time during the recent hiatus.
Barnes not only had a hard time passing the NBA's COVID-19 protocol, but multiple family members also tested positive for the dreaded disease.
The Kings vet himself was asymptomatic and never went on to experience any COVID-19 symptom; unfortunately, both his wife Brittany and his mother Shirley tested positive as well and were “really sick.”

“In my household, my wife and my mom both tested positive for COVID,” Harrison Barnes said following the Kings' 106-102 exhibition win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday, via NBC Sports. “My wife was sick, really sick for about a week, my mom was sick for a couple of days. In our household, we were able to see the different ranges of how COVID can hurt your system, how serious it is, and how important it is to wear a mask.”
With Barnes now officially back in the mix for the Kings down in Orlando, Sacramento will hope to put up a fight for the final playoff spot out West.
The team, however, is in 11th place in the Western Conference standings at 28-36. As it stands today, the Kings are 3.5 games behind the eighth-seeded Memphis Grizzlies. Both the Portland Trail Blazers and New Orleans Pelicans reside between the Memphis and Sacramento ahead of the upcoming restart.
