The NBA has fulfilled its promise to Sacramento Kings owner Vivek Ranadive. Finally, the NBA will play in his home country of India.

Ranadive has long dreamed of this moment. He is ecstatic that the NBA kept its promise to him six years ago and that it's finally coming into fruition.

“It’s been a long journey, but the NBA has kept its promise to me,” Ranadive told USA TODAY Sports. “I can’t even tell you how incredible and exciting that is. It’s beyond my wildest dreams.”

Ranadive's Kings will square off with the Indiana Pacers in two successive contests on Friday and Saturday at the NSCI Stadium in Mumbai. This is the first time that the NBA will hold a preseason game in India. Even though it's just preseason, hosting an NBA game is definitely a historic feat for India.

India broke barriers when Satnam Singh Bhamara became its first home grown player drafted into the NBA. He was selected by the Dallas Mavericks in the second round of the 2015 NBA draft.

With its increasing fanbase, the NBA is rightfully taking the game to the international fans. The NBA recently created an professional league in Africa as it continues its advocacy to expand the game globally.
