The Sacramento Kings have released a statement on the incident Matt Barnes was allegedly involved.
The 36-year-old UCLA product reportedly choked a woman inside a New York City nightclub on Sunday night and punched two other men who tried to break the argument. Police responded to a 911 call made but Barnes had already left the club. He is currently wanted by authorities for questioning.

The franchise is doing its due diligence by gathering all information needed before deciding on how to address it with Barnes. The 6-foot-7 wingman is not only facing possible criminal charges but also disciplinary action from his team should he be proven guilty on the allegations.
Although only averaging 25.6 minutes per game with minimal production off the bench, Barnes has been a fixture in the team's rotation and serves as their locker room leader. Should he get suspended, he will be a huge loss to the struggling Kings.
