On Saturday night, the Golden State Warriors are trying to get back on track against the Philadelphia 76ers. However, one of the game's biggest stories is about far more than basketball. Warriors center DeMarcus Cousins is wearing special shoes on Saturday night. On each heel, he wrote “#StephonClark” to honor and bring awareness to the police shooting victim.

As Spears notes, Clark was shot to death by police in March of 2018. The 22-year-old was unarmed. He was being pursued for allegedly breaking car windows in a Sacramento neighborhood. He ran from police, and they shot him in the back, as they believed he had pointed a gun in their direction. The item Clark was holding turned out to be a cell phone.
The incident sparked outrage. Officers involved were placed on administrative leave during an investigation into their actions. However, this morning District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert announced that no charges would be filed against the officers involved.

A week later, members of the Kings and their opponents, the Boston Celtics, wore Clark's name on their warm-up shirts.
