San Antonio Spurs legendary head coach Gregg Popovich spoke on the importance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. While he acknowledges the great things that King did during his lifetime for civil rights and justice, Popovich couldn't hold back his feelings of sadness, considering how the country has been “rolling back so much” of what the activist fought for.

“You could just look at the voting rights rollbacks ever since the supreme court decision in 2013 and how they continue to try to fight that to keep the vote down.”

Apart from doing great work on the basketball court, Gregg Popovich has been pretty much vocal about what's happening in his country and all over the world. Some of his players even shared that they don't always talk about basketball with him.
