The San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder engaged in what was probably the best game of the season on Thursday night, as the Spurs came away with a thrilling 154-147 double-overtime win at the AT&T Center.
The two teams met again on Saturday night, with the Thunder notching a much tamer 122-112 victory in regulation, but Spurs guard Patty Mills will likely remember the former contest for a long time:
“You just kind of pinch yourself because you realize how lucky you are to be involved in games like that,” said Mills, according to Tom Orsborn of the San Antonio Express-News.
Mills scored 14 points in the win, adding six assists, three rebounds a pair of steals. He made five of his seven field goal attempts, burying three 3-pointers.
LaMarcus Aldridge racked up 56 points, making 20 of his 33 shots and making all 16 of his free throws.
The Spurs shot an insane 84.2 percent from 3-point range, going 16-of-19 from beyond the arc. Overall, San Antonio made 56.6 percent of its shots and went 26-of-29 from the free-throw line.

Aldridge finished with 17 points this time around, and the Spurs were considerably cooler from long range, making just 10 of their 32 triples. Marco Belinelli actually led the team with 24 points off the bench.
Meanwhile, Russell Westbrook dropped 24 points for the Thunder, and Paul George posted a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
San Antonio now owns a record of 25-19 and will play host to the Charlotte Hornets on Monday night before battling the in-state rival Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday.
