The San Antonio Spurs managed to win against the Phoenix Suns in front of Mexican fans. However, their latest victory was probably an exhausting one, as it is their fourth straight overtime game.

This is a ridiculous record that you don't see often. And according to ESPN Stats & Info, it is the first time in NBA history that a team played in four straight overtime contests.

The fact that the Spurs were the team involved in such a record is a testament to how well-coached they are. Even if there are no any established stars in the team, Gregg Popovich has managed to get the most out of his players and win extremely close battles.

Besides the Suns, the other teams they faced in this four-game stretch were the Houston Rockets, Sacramento Kings and the Cleveland Cavaliers. They won against the strong Rockets and a young Kings team but surprisingly fell short against the Cavs.

Popovich would rather not have this record, though. Per Matt Petersen of the Daily Herald, Pop isn't exactly thrilled of this record.

However, the players are more than happy that they won their latest overtime clash.

“It's a credit to us all hanging in there and executing when we're all tired,” said Patty Mills, who scored the game-winner with 1.7 seconds left in overtime, per ESPN's Eric Gomez. Mills finished with 26 points off the bench to lead all scorers.

“It's good to leave a lasting memory for the fans of Mexico.”

The Spurs' next game will be a rematch against the Rockets. Popovich hopes that they won't have to go to overtime again to win this one.
