The San Antonio Spurs enter a new era of basketball. After drafting Victor Wembanyama, the Spurs have a chance to develop into one of the best young teams in the NBA. Wembanyama's height, wingspan, and skillset make him a generational basketball player.
However, his thin frame could be problematic when he takes on veteran centers. This is not a problem for the 19-year-old. Wembanyama is not backing down from players or teams attempting to be physical with him.
The Spurs have a warrior in Victor Wembanyama
The 7-foot-4 center was asked if he was ready for teams to start pushing him around. His response was simple.

“It's not something I'm afraid of. Quickness beats physicality,” Wembanyama said, per Mike Finger.
Naturally, Wembanyama will attack the challenge of physicality. What makes him special is not only his amazing physical tools but his competitive drive. He will do whatever it takes to overcome challenges to beat the opposition.
The French native does indeed have the quickness to beat physical defenders. During the NBA Preseason with the Spurs, Wembanyama showed his ability to slash to the rim with ease and run the floor swiftly. He did not hesitate to rise above defenders for a quick jump shot either. The scary thing is that Wembanyama also can fight in the post and give physicality back to defenders.
As San Antonio opens its season on Wednesday, Oct. 25 against the Dallas Mavericks, Spurs fans can rest assured that Wembanyama will not back down from any challenges.
