The San Antonio Spurs are not used to NOT winning. They are a franchise that has made the playoffs in each season since 1997-98 and won at least 50 games in all but one campaign during that two-decade stretch. The Lakers are reportedly offering San Antonio a package of young assets and future picks. They are also willing to make a trade with another team to get a first-round pick that they could throw in to sweeten the offer for the Spurs.
San Antonio has yet to bite, but with a team coached by Gregg Popovich and maneuvered by a responsible front office, the Spurs seem to be capable of grooming and turning any assets they could come away from a Leonard trade into productive pieces.
