The San Antonio Spurs have become one of the most consistent franchises in the history of professional sports, thanks to the leadership qualities of famed head coach Gregg Popovich. What is equally consistent, though, is Popovich's tendency to mess with the reporters that are tasked with interviewing him before, during and after games.
With Sunday evening's matchup against the New York Knicks being no different, Popovich was at it again, this time, joking about being interrogated by a reporter.
Funny Gregg Popovich moment before the game at MSG.
Pop: Do you need that?
Reporter: Mumbles something about dimming the light.
Pop: Well, if you need it, you need it, but if you don't, I'd rather not be interrogated. I didn't do it. I probably did 😂 pic.twitter.com/YtWW2gTfek

Despite trading away superstar forward Kawhi Leonard to the Toronto Raptors this past offseason, the Spurs remain in the mix for a playoff spot in the always competitive Western Conference. With Popovich still manning the ship, a ship currently being steered by veteran swingman DeMar DeRozan and All-Star big man LaMarcus Aldridge, the Spurs entered play on Sunday evening with a record of 33-27, good for seventh place in the Western Conference standings.

However, the Spurs dynasty might be heading toward an abrupt halt as Popovich may or may not return to the sideline next season.
“I don’t know the answer,” Popovich recently told The New York Times when asked about his plans for next season.”
Even if this is Popovich's last go-round at the helm in San Antonio, it has certainly been quite the run. In addition to tormenting reporters in a joking manner, Popovich's Spurs have won five NBA Championships along the way with the veteran head coach reaching the postseason year after year even when a title wasn't brought back to San Antonio.
