Through his first few games of his NBA career, Philadelphia 76ers rookie point guard Ben Simmons has quickly taken the league by storm.
Simmons has put on display his all-around skill set that has already led to him notching his first career triple-double while averaging 16.4 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 7.4 assists per game. However, there has been continued questions about his outside shooting ability.
With that in mind, the 21-year-old told Jessica Camerato of NBC Sports that he believes once he develops a consistent shooting touch, it will be quite difficult for opponents to defend him.
. @BenSimmons25 said when he develops a more consistent outside shot, “It’s going to be pretty tough to guard me.”

Simmons has already proven that he can be a highly effective player primarily through his passing while showing to be more than a capable rebounder and scorer. In fact, he has notched double figures scoring in each game while recording 10 or more rebounds all but once leading to four straight double-doubles to start his career.
Up to this point in his brief NBA career, there has been constant criticism concerning his outside shooting ability. It has been one glaring weakness in his game, but it has yet to hinder his play on the floor in his rookie campaign.
That said, there will come a point where adding a reliable outside shot that could potentially stretch out to the three-point line will greatly improve his effectiveness offensively. He already possesses great size for a point guard standing at 6-foot-10 with the type of special court vision and passing skills that along with a consistent shot would quickly elevate him to being considered among the best players in the league.
