The Philadelphia 76ers are off to an encouraging start to the 2017-18 season much of which has been fueled by the play of their dynamic rookie point guard Ben Simmons.

The 21-year-old has continued to catch praise with his play that has seen him join exclusive company with the promising performances he has put together through the first few weeks of the season. Following a season-high 27 points in a win over the Utah Jazz on Monday night, he made it clear what his sole focus is honed in on.

Beyond the talent and ability on the court, Simmons possesses a unique mindset and drive to obtain more than just personal accolades. At this rate, those prestigious honors will come given how he continues to play on the court this season and further than that.

Simmons helped make the 76ers into a formidable team alongside Joel Embiid, who has quickly proven to be on the fast track to becoming the most dominant big man in the league. The combination of these two has put quite a bright future ahead of the franchise to compete for an NBA title in the near future.
It may just be a matter of time before Simmons and the 76ers are considered to be a legitimate title contender.
