Joel Embiid was just limited to just six minutes in the first half of the Philadelphia 76ers’ matchup against the Houston Rockets as he was saddled with foul trouble. However, that was more than enough time for the Sixers’ star big man to deliver one of the highlights of the night.
Two of Embiid’s nine first-half points came on this monstrous jam late in the first quarter.
Article Continues BelowJoel Embiid initially set up a pick for TJ McConnell out to the 3-point line, and spotted himself up for possible pass back. McConnell instead drove in, drawing two Rockets defenders with him. That left Embiid with a wide open invitation to the get to the rim, which he did not decline.
Embiid cut inside, caught the pass from McConnell, and took off from some distance to deliver the massive slam. There were no issues with the landing as well, which is always on the back of everyone’s minds when seeing Embiid jump.
Sixers fans will likely continue to hold their breath all year whenever Embiid leaves the floor, but when he does decide to sky, he makes them count with highlight-reel-worthy dunks.
