San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich has always been known for how good he is at his job, being one of the best coaches in league history. However, he’s also made a name for himself as a highly entertaining interviewee, regardless of the topic or question thrown at him.
The 68-year-old was asked to give his reaction about Brad Stevens’ high praises, as the Boston Celtics head coach admitted to look up to him and respect him a lot. Instead of immediately talking highly of him as well, Popovich sarcastically responded in a way only he can pull off. He joked that he didn’t think much of him, but likes it that everyone sees him as larger than life.
Pop on Stevens: "Don't think much of him, but I'm glad he thinks highly of me b/c I like to be larger than everyone." Then raves about Brad.

Only entering his fifth season as the Celtics’ head coach, Stevens has already turned a lot of heads by steering the team to four straight playoff appearances, and only missing it in his first year. He has excelled at his job despite being one of the youngest in the NBA today, and more importantly, has gained the respect of his players, and peers.
If he keeps up his run of successful seasons, it won’t come as a complete surprise if he’ll be able to follow the footsteps of Popovich. However, he surely understands that’s easier said than done, and will take a lot more wins, and even championships to even be included in the same conversation as him.
