Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Derrick Rose is still suffering from a bit of pain in his right ankle, which was sprained during the second quarter of Tuesday night's 123-109 win over the L.A. Clippers. According to a report from Dane Moore of ZoneCoverageMN, Rose did not participate in Wednesday's practice session.

Rose, now 29 years of age, recorded nine points in six minutes before leaving Tuesday night's game. Just two days before, the crafty ball-handler scored 14 points (eight in the fourth quarter) in a 129-120 loss to the Houston Rockets.

Rose joined the Timberwolves less than two weeks ago. In five appearances with his new team, the former league MVP has turned in averages of 6.6 points on 45.5 percent shooting from the field and 1.6 assists.

Timberwolves head coach Tom Thibodeau recently announced that Rose is “day to day” with the ankle injury. As most hoops fans know, Rose struggled with left ankle injuries during his stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers earlier this season.

“Hopefully it won’t be long,” coach Thibodeau told Jace Frederick of of TwinCities.com.

After a bit of a shaky start with the Timberwolves, Rose seemed to be finding his groove. This injury, however, could upset his rhythm. He's currently listed as day-to-day.

“It’s all about rhythm, just like anything else in life,” Rose told Frederick Tuesday morning.

The Timberwolves — now the third-ranked team in the Northwest Division standings with a 41-31 overall record — will be back in action on Friday night, as they're scheduled to face the New York Knicks inside Madison Square Garden. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. EST.
