The Toronto Raptors are in the NBA Finals for the first time in franchise history, but this is hardly Danny Green's first rodeo.

The Raptors guard made back-to-back finals appearances with the San Antonio Spurs in 2013 and 2014, winning a championship in the latter season.

But now that Green is back on the big stage for the third time in his career, he actually thinks he took his first two trips to the finals for granted and took to Instagram for a bit of self-reflection:

“Took it for granted, been spoiled and lucky in my early years…realized how hard it is to get back to this stage!” wrote Green. “We gon enjoy this one! And take full advantage of this opportunity! #cantwait”

Green put himself on the map with an outstanding performance in the 2013 finals, setting the NBA record for the most made three-pointers in a finals series.

Still, that 2013 series rung hollow for Green, as the Spurs famously blew a 3-2 series lead to the Miami Heat and fell in seven games. However, the following season, Green and San Antonio got their opportunity for a rematch with LeBron James and the Heat and ended up obliterating the Heat in a five-game series that ended up being one of the most lopsided finals in NBA history.

Now, Green will get an opportunity to win his second ring against a loaded Golden State Warriors club that has won three of the last four titles and is now making its fifth straight finals appearance.

Game 1 is on Thursday night.
