DeMar DeRozan and the Toronto Raptors have gone through a lot together. They have improved the last few years, but the same roadblock is always at the end of their road, the Cleveland Cavaliers. Last offseason, they actually changed their entire offensive philosophy to try and get through LeBron James, but once again they ended up falling short.

Even with all the disappointments, DeRozan does still see some light that has come out from yet another disappointing end to the season.

DeRozan told Eric Koreen of The Athletic that “The more crap you go through, the stronger and more resilient you will be down the line.”

The Raptors struggled as a whole during the series, but for DeRozan, it is one he would love to forget. During Game 3 he played only 28 minutes putting up eight points. He was benched the entire time that the Raptors came storming back in the 4th quarter. After Game 4 DeRozan said maybe it is nothing more than the Cavaliers just having their number.

“The last three years have been rough for us, competing against this team,” DeRozan said postgame via Bleacher Report. “Maybe they just got our number.

“Things just don't go right for us. Whatever it is — it could be a lot of things. All I know is the last three years they have been a reason why we haven't advanced.”

It will be interesting to see what the Raptors do this offseason to try and get over the hump next year, but something has to be done or next season will likely end in disappointment too.
