After the first 12 minutes of the game, the Spurs were up big, 19-38. One would assume that the Raptors would come storming back. However, it wasn't the case as the game progressed. The Spurs led by as much as 28 points.
Article Continues BelowThe Raptors had seven players in double-figures in points led by Kawhi Leonard who had 21 markers. Serge Ibaka and Delon Wright were not far behind with 14 and 15 points, respectively. As a team, the Raptors shot at a decent clip, 44 percent. Perhaps what hurt them was their 20 percent shooting from 3-point country.
The Spurs, meanwhile, got contributions from LaMarcus Aldridge who had 23. DeMar DeRozan dropped a triple-double on his former team: 21 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 assists. The Spurs looked like a well-oiled machine as they shot 55.3 percent from the field, 48.1 percent from downtown, and 90 percent from the free throw line.
The loss brings the Raptors' record to 28-12. They're still second in the Eastern Conference behind the Milwaukee Bucks — whom they'll face on Saturday.
The Spurs have won three straight games and sport a 22-17 record. They have a chance to extend their streak on Saturday when they host the Memphis Grizzlies.
