As most expected, the Toronto Raptors secured a Game 1 victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Monday. However, despite the convincing win, Raptors star point guard Kyle Lowry has no intention of letting their easy victory get in their heads.

In Kyle Lowry's mind, he believes that the best thing to do would be to put this game behind them and focus on the next one. Lowry

“We know this is only one game. We understand that,” said Lowry via Doug Smith of The Star.” It’s a long series. It’s only one game. Adjustments will be made. We have to continue to play hard and watch film and get better.

“I think we have an opportunity to play against a great group of guys down there in the Nets and a heck of a coach in Jacque Vaughn. They’ve got some up-and-coming stars in Caris LeVert, Jarrett Allen, Joe Harris, those guys. It felt like a real playoff game. We’re trying to lock into what they’re doing. We have to be ready to make adjustments.”

The game wasn't even close, with the defending champs thrashing the shorthanded Nets en route to a 134-110 blowout victory. For his part, Lowry had a terrible shooting night, going 3-of-14 from the field for 16 points. However, in typical Lowry fashion he found other ways to help his squad. He logged seven rebounds, six assists, a block, and zero turnovers in 38 minutes of play.

Game 2 will take place on Wednesday. As Lowry mentioned above, he expects the Raptors to enter that contest with the same type of mentality as they did in Game 1. Now is not the time to rest on their laurels.
