Toronto Raptors center Marc Gasol knows that he has little to no break from basketball. Roughly two months after helping his team win their first-ever NBA championship, the seven-foot Spaniard is now part of the Spanish national basketball team that will compete in China for the FIBA World Cup.
And Gasol plans to ride on the good momentum that he got going with the Raptors.
In his recent interview with FIBA, Gasol said he wants to help Spain get a medal finish in the World Cup, which will take place from August 31 to September 15.

I've won a lot with the national team since I first played at senior level, but I want to keep winning and be with the guys to keep making history for Spanish basketball.”
Spain has always been a powerhouse during FIBA World Cup and Olympic tournaments, and this year will not be an exemption. Aside from Gasol, the Spaniards also have Ricky Rubio from the Phoenix Suns and Willie Hernangomez of the Charlotte Hornets.
Marc is pretty confident about what Team Spain can do in the World Cup, and he'll make sure that his team will be able to bag at least one of the three medals that could be won in the tournament.
