Toronto Raptors head coach Nick nurse has addressed the much-talked-about spat he had with Pascal Siakam during Sunday's disappointing loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Apparently, lines were crossed during the exchange which led to the team reportedly fining Siakam a hefty $50,000 for his actions.

For his part, Nurse attempted to downplay the heated exchange while saying that it was all because of his star's frustration during the game:

“Pascal wasn't very happy that he didn't play in the fourth quarter,” via Blake Murphy of The Athletic. “He expressed those concerns. And that's about it. And the discipline stuff is being worked out with the front office.”

Nurse seems to be trying to move on from the situation which is exactly what you would expect from a team's head coach. The issue seems to have been resolved already, or at least it is currently being resolved, with officials within the Raptors organization likely serving as mediators between the pair.

The issue here is that apparently, Siakam got personal with his words. It's one thing to express one's frustrations during games, but the fact that Siakam crossed lines might be something that could have a lasting impact on his relationship with his coach — at least from a personal standpoint.

The Raptors haven't had the best of seasons so far, and the exasperation was due to spill over at some point. It is just unfortunate that it had to come to this. The best thing that can happen now is that perhaps somehow this transgression serves as a (good) turning point for the Raptors as they look to get their campaign back on track.
