The Toronto Raptors and the Golden State Warriors will begin their Finals duel on Thursday night at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, and the Raptors may get a boost to their supporting cast but they will have to wait a bit longer as OG Anunoby was ruled out for Game 1.

Previous reports revealed that Anunoby will return from a long layoff caused by an abdominal injury in their final showdown against the Golden State Warriors. However, Ben Golliver of The Washington Post reported that Raptors coach Nick Nurse confirmed that the second-year forward will not be available in Game 1.

Nurse said, though, that Anunoby will be active for Game 2 on Sunday. Anunoby proved last year that he can be a vital contributor for the Raptors in the playoffs. He was once tasked to guard LeBron James in their second-round showdown last season, and actually had an 18-point performance in Game 3 of the series.

Against the Warriors, Anunoby is expected to be tasked to slow down Warriors superstar guard Klay Thompson, and also provide some scoring punch for Toronto. Before going down with an injury last month, the former Indiana star averaged 7.0 points and 2.9 rebounds for the Raptors in 67 games with six starts.
