The Toronto Raptors were talking trades involving Kyle Lowry and Norman Powell, with Powell being sent to the Portland Trail Blazers ahead of Thursday's deadline. Following the move to part ways with Powell, the Twitter account for the Raptors released an emotional farewell video for Powell.

The video shares Powell's journey with Toronto, where he helped the franchise win a championship in the 2018-2019 season. Powell began his career being drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks in the second round of the 2015 NBA Draft out of UCLA.

But before the 2015 NBA Draft concluded, the Raptors acquired a first-round pick and Powell in exchange for Greivis Vasquez. The first-round pick that Toronto got in the Powell trade on draft night would turn into O.G. Anunoby in the 2017 NBA Draft.

For Powell, he spent the first six seasons of his career with the Raptors, earning his way into a prominent role in recent seasons. During the 2019-2020 season, Powell would record a career-high 16 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.2 steals per game in 52 games played.

The former Bruin would build on that success this season by upping his scoring to 19.6 points per game while he's shooting a career-best 43.9 percent from three-point range. Powell served as an important player for the Raptors this season as they have battled injuries and COVID-19 issues thus far.

Throughout his career, Powell was an energetic player for Toronto and he was a fan-favorite. While Powell looks to continue his career with the Trail Blazers and enters free agency in the offseason, the Raptors organization is making sure he realizes how much he meant to the city of Toronto.
