The Scotiabank Arena, home of the Toronto Raptors, is set to get a multi-million reimagination.
Per the Associated Press via ESPN, Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment president and CEO Michael Friisdahl shared the good news. He said that the change's aim is to make the overall experience better for fans. He noted that their teams — the Raptors and the Maple Leafs — have won four championships in the last three years. This fact pushes them to give the fans something better.
“We've got to keep getting better, we've got to keep improving the experience,” Friisdahl said. “We won a championship — we've won four championships in the last three years. That, if anything, motivates us to do even more.”
“Eventually when it's all said and done, you will notice that everything will have be touched in one way or another to improve the overall [fan] experience,” he added.

Friisdahl added that they intend to make Scotiabank Arena a “gathering place” for fans as well as a destination in the city. One of the on-going renovations is a pedestrian bridge will connect with a new second floor to the galleria on the north side of the arena, as well as the city's underground Path network.
A new video board is about to be set up at Jurrasic Park at the arena's west side. It's estimated to be 40 percent bigger than the old one. Improvements will also be made to the Real Sports Bar & Grill, the Chairman's Suite, as well as the technological improvements with regard to food and merchandise orders via the team apps.
Indeed, Raptors fans, as well as Maple Leaf diehards, are about to receive a better experience watching their home teams compete.
