Toronto Raptors Serge Ibaka is looking forward to battling former teammate Kevin Durant in the 2019 NBA Finals.
Ibaka told reports that he has no plans to talk trash to Durant if ever the Golden State Warriors superstar manages to return at some point in the finals. He said that talking trash is not his thing, and he is just going to fight Durant or just stay silent inside the hard court.
“I don't really like to talk trash,” Ibaka said via Josh Lewenberg of TSN Sports. “Either I'm going to fight you or I'm going to stay silent. I don't know how to talk trash. Maybe that's one of my issues.”

But before his statement gets misconstrued, Ibaka clarified that he just “joking” when he said that he would rather have a fight with Durant instead of talking trash with the Warriors superstar. Ibaka and Durant played together for seven seasons with the Oklahoma City Thunder before parting ways the season after they lost to the Warriors in the 2016 Western Conference Finals.
Ibaka had a great series against the Milwaukee Bucks in the East Finals, where he averaged 8.2 points and 7.0 rebounds in 21 minutes a game. In the series-tying win in Game 4, Ibaka had a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Durant, on the other hand, remains out with a calf injury and will miss Game 1 of the finals.
