The Toronto Raptors will now have to surrender their 2019 first-round pick to the San Antonio Spurs after scoring a 112-103 win against the Chicago Bulls at home on Tuesday.

The Raptors sent a first-round pick to the Spurs during the deal that sent Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green to Toronto, and DeMar DeRozan to San Antonio. According to RealGM, under the terms of the deal, the traded pick is top-20 protected and could become two second-round picks if not conveyed this year.

However, the win over the Bulls assured the Raptors of finishing with one of the top 10 best records in the league this season, which means their pick will fall within 21-30 this summer. It means the Spurs will get another valuable asset despite giving up their franchise player, who had a falling out with the team during the 2017-18 NBA season.

It is worth noting, though, that the deal also worked wonders for the Raptors. They are currently holding the second-best record in the league at 52-23. Leonard and Green are also playing key roles in Toronto's campaign this season.

Kawhi Leonard is averaging career-highs 27.2 points and 7.5 rebounds. The superstar forward is also tallying 3.3 assists and 1.8 steals per game this season. Danny Green, on the other hand, is posting 10.0 points on 45.4 percent shooting from the field to go along with 4.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game as a starter.

However, it is worth noting that the Raptors are in a tricky situation in terms of Leonard's future. The 27-year-old forward could become a free agent this summer if he opts out of the final year of his current contract. If he becomes a free agent, several teams are expected to pursue the former San Diego State standout.
