The Toronto Raptors' trade with the San Antonio Spurs has ended the NBA's best bromance, separating All-Star shooting guard DeMar DeRozan from backcourt friend Kyle Lowry, who played all of his last six seasons alongside the Compton native.
The duo was inseparable on and off the court, providing some of the sweetest and most endearing moments that had Raptors fans and the media set them as #friendshipgoals due to their constant shenanigans:
RIP one of the greatest bromances in sports.

Lowry will likely feel stung by this trade, but he is first and foremost a competitor who is expected to make the most of his future situation with a star of Kawhi Leonard's caliber:
For Lowry, seeing his long-time teammate and good friend go will be hard, but remember: before he and DeRozan even became close the Raptors traded Rudy Gay, his best friend and godfather of his son. He got over it. More than anything else, Lowry's about winning.

While it's unlikely that Lowry and Leonard will have a similar friendship despite the similarity in age to DeRozan, the element of chemistry still exists, and so long as they develop it, the Raptors will be happy enough with the return over the course of the 2018-19 season.
