After the controversial trade which sent DeMar DeRozan to the San Antonio Spurs, the star guard is now speaking in front of the camera on how he was kept in the dark by the Toronto Raptors.
In a recent interview, DeRozan narrated his side of the story. He said that he simply wanted to know what's going on. For him, it's only right that the Raptors organization gave him any form of information being that he has sacrificed a lot for them over the last nine years.
“I felt like I wasn't treated with what I sacrificed for nine years, with the respect that I thought I deserved. By just giving me the say-so of letting me know something's going on, or there's a chance. That's all I wanted. I'm not saying you don't have to trade me. Just let me know something's going on, because I sacrificed everything. Just let me know. That's all I ask.”

After the deal went down, DeRozan went to Instagram stories and posted a series of messages, expressing how he felt betrayed by the organization which drafted him ninth overall in 2009. There were even reports that the Raptors promised not to trade him away a day or two before the deal went down.
DeRozan's revelation could affect the Raptors big time as they move forward. Though it is part of the business, DeRozan's concerns are valid. Being the face of the franchise for the past several years, he deserves to know what's going on.
