Whenever discussions are made on who the best team in the Eastern Conference is, the Cleveland Cavaliers will most certainly be the first team that comes to mind for a lot of people.

However, for one of the league's veteran head coaches, it is a different team.

The Minnesota TimberwolvesTom Thibodeau was recently asked where he thinks the Toronto Raptors are and had nothing but good words for them. He even went as far as saying that they might be the best team in the East.

The Raptors have indeed emerged as one of the contenders in their conference who have a big chance of not just competing with the Cavs, but even dethroning them. They have the players to do it and are a very well-coached squad too.

If Toronto wants to prove Thibodeau's claim, they need to play at a higher level this season to beat the defending world champions. Many would agree that the Raptors are already a good team, but in order to become elite and even be consistently considered the best in the East, they need to show that they can win against them first.
