He may not be the Rookie of the Year (thanks to Ben Simmons who just ran away with it given his command of triple-doubles and leading the Philadelphia 76ers to a 50-win season for the first time since 2001) but the Utah Jazz's Donovan Mitchell is still making plenty of noise for the promising rookie class of 2017.
Just early this week, Mitchell set a record for the most points scored by a rookie guard over their first two playoff games with 55 points – beating the great Michael Jordan's 53. That's the greatest basketball player of all time right there, ladies and gentlemen.

And now on a comparatively lower note but still mightily impressive is this stat courtesy of ESPN stats guru Micah Adams.
Donovan Mitchell has outscored Russell Westbrook 23-2 in the 4th quarter over the last 2 games.

Russell Westbrook, the only player to have two consecutive triple-double averages in NBA history and a scoring savant in his own right, only has two points in the last two fourth quarters while the rookie Mitchell has 21 points more. Granted, Westbrook has more dependable options in Paul George and Carmelo Anthony while Mitchell is virtually the team's go-to scorer, that's still quite the staggering stat.
