Utah Jazz superstar Donovan Mitchell has shifted to higher gears in the 2021 Playoffs. After another explosive Game 4 performance to help the Jazz grab a commanding 3-1 lead over the Memphis Grizzlies, the two-time All-Star has now climbed up the rankings as one of the top active players in the league with the highest points per game average.

Mitchell put up a 30-piece against Ja Morant and the Grizzlies which now puts his post-season scoring average to 27.4. The 24-year-old is now the fourth-best in terms of active players in the NBA with the highest scoring average with 27.4 to join the likes of Anthony Davis and LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers as well as Kevin Durant of the Brooklyn Nets (via StatMuse).

Add to that, Mitchell has also made franchise history with his post-season averages that no Utah legend has ever touched before. Sorry, Karl Malone and John Stockton – Spida is on a whole different level.

After missing the first game of the series due to an ankle injury, Mitchell stormed out of the gates and exploded for 25 points in Game 2. He then dropped 29 points in Game 3 and followed that up with his 10th career playoff 30-point game on Monday. Subsequently, the Jazz have won three straight with Mitchell spearheading their attack.

The All-Star has been having a stellar season, averaging career-highs in points, assists, and even three-pointers. Mitchell's impressive fourth season in the league has been one of the main reasons why the Jazz entered the post-season with the best record in the league and it seems that the young star is just getting started.
