Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell, the reigning Western Conference Player of the Month, has been playing truly elite basketball. His scoring and playmaking abilities make him a very tough player to contain. As the Jazz prepare to face the Toronto Raptors at Scotiabank Arena, Mitchell's status remains one of the most important things for Utah.

Is Donovan Mitchell playing vs. Raptors

Mitchell has only missed three games so far this season, only two of which were consecutive. The Jazz, as a whole, have had the fortune of good health this season and jumped out to a 28-10 record, good for third in the conference. Unfortunately for the championship hopefuls, their luck seems to be running out.

According to Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune, Mitchell will be one of several key Utah players that will miss tonight's game. Mitchell is dealing with a low back strain.

Losing Mitchell and other key players like Rudy Gobert, Mike Conley and Bojan Bogdanovic are huge blows for the Jazz. Utah was fortunate enough to avoid sending players to health and safety protocols longer than most teams. Now with players like Gobert testing positive for COVID-19, Utah may lose its third-place standing in the conference if their stars miss significant time.

Toronto, meanwhile, has most of its players available and enters tonight's contest on a four-game winning streak. They have been very dominant at home recently, winning eight of their last 10 home contests. The Jazz are in for a tough challenge against the Raptors, who are seventh in the Eastern Conference.

With three more games left on their road trip, including tonight's contest, the Jazz hope that Mitchell will be ready to play again soon.
