Team USA finally gave NBA-hungry fans some action when the senior roster squared off with the Select Team on Friday night. Following the blowout contest, Utah Jazz star Donovan Mitchell made the day even more special for some lucky young fans, gifting them his kicks for the night.

What a class act from the 22-year-old rising star. Kids are surely going to warm up to him quickly if the Jazz guard continues doing things like this.

The senior squad, USA Blue, routed the select roster, USA White, 97-87, in Team USA's tune-up game. Mitchell, who started for USA Blue at shooting guard, had a pretty solid showing on Friday night. He scored eight points on 3-of-7 shooting in 16 minutes, while also adding two rebounds and four assists.

Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum top-scored for USA Blue with 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting and three three-pointers, while Mitchell's starting backcourt-mate Kemba Walker, contributed 14 points and four assists.

Team USA has seen a major number of dropouts from some high-profile stars such as Anthony Davis, James Harden, and Damian Lillard. Because of this, guys such as Mitchell are able to take some of the spotlight and take on a much bigger role upcoming FIBA World Cup, which begins this August 31.

USA is still in the process of rounding out its final roster as it prepares for the global tournament. Mitchell is one of the bigger names for the Red, White, and Blue, so he's virtually a lock for the final cut. The team will continue its training camp next week in Los Angeles.
