There is a ton of buzz surrounding Jerami Grant in recent NBA trade rumors. It has become quite apparent that he's on the radar of multiple NBA teams. Now that the Wizards have hit a bit of a slump, it might be time for them to shake things up and make a game-changing move ahead of the 2022 NBA Trade Deadline.

Adding Grant to their young, athletic, and fierce rotation would definitely rev up the competition out East and put Washington back in the playoff picture.
Granted they're only a game and a half back of the Hornets for the eighth spot, but with a new-and-improved Eastern Conference, things change on a nightly basis and if they're not careful they could continue to fall in the standings. Making a play for a youthful and talented two-way stud like Grant would add a much-needed boost to the Wizards front court. Let's now discuss the perfect trade the Wizards must offer the Pistons for Jerami Grant.
Proposed Wizards-Pistons Trade:
Wizards receive: Jerami Grant, Hamidou Diallo
Pistons receive: Davis Bertans, Corey Kispert, 2022 1st-round pick, 2024 1st-round pick
In this proposed trade the Wizards would be receiving a versatile two-way combo forward. He would bolster their frontline and provide them with some quality depth upfront. Plus a duo of Grant and Bradley Beal would make for a nightmare cover. Opposing defenses would have fits with the mismatches they'd be able to create each game.
Article Continues BelowIf the Wizards want to climb their way back to being a top-5 team in the Eastern Conference, then this is a move that would vastly increase their chances of doing so. They would also land an athletic wing with great upside to his game in Hamidou Diallo. He's just 23 years old and still has a ton of potential that the Wizards would benefit from greatly.
On the other side, the Pistons would be getting two role players in Davis Bertans and Corey Kispert. Bertans and Kispert could help them fill out their rotation nicely, but the key part of this trade is the draft assets.
Two first round picks from a team like Washington could go a long way in rebuilding. The Wizards are 9th in the East, could very well fall backwards further. If that were to happen, you have a top-10 pick in this year's NBA Draft.
If the season ends as a bust for Washington, there were already rumors of the organization moving Bradley Beal. Were that to happen next season, all of a sudden, the 2024 1st-round pick is probably a top-5 pick.
Worst case, Detroit lands two middle of the first round picks.
There's no doubt that both teams would benefit greatly from this trade. If they're serious about taking the next step, then this is the trade that would satisfy both parties.
