Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal and Boston Celtics standout Jayson Tatum both hail from St. Louis, and will finally share the court as teammates.

Tatum had previously committed to playing for Team USA at the Olympic Games in Tokyo this summer. Shams Charania of The Athletic reported Friday Beal will also be part of the Olympic squad, allowing him the opportunity to play with his hometown friend.

Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard and Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green are among the other big-name commitments, as well.

Beal's future with the Wizards is likely to be a topic of discussion this summer. Before clarifying his future in Washington, however, the star 2-guard will try to help Team USA bring home the gold in Tokyo.

Beal has long been complimentary of Tatum and has spoken about watching his game since they were youngsters growing up in the Gateway To The Midwest:

I've been knowing Jayson since he was in diapers. I always know every time we play that I have the match-up,” the Wizards star said in January, via Chase Hughes of NBC Sports Washington.

“I know him very well. But he's 6-9 and I'm every bit of 6-3. I'm strong and can hold my own, but it comes to a point when, s—, there's nothing you can do.”

Both Beal and Tatum are coming off terrific campaigns, with the two squaring off in the NBA play-in tournament last month. The Celtics defeated the Wizards in that matchup.

The two St. Louis All-Stars will finally have the chance to feed off one another in Tokyo.
