It is no secret that the Washington Wizards have suffered some crucial blows to their roster thus far in the 2018-19 NBA season. It seems their struggles have taken shooting guard Bradley Beal back to his recreational days.
Washington has been massively shorthanded as of late and now have a rather thin bench because of it. According to Candace Buckner of The Washington Post, Beal likened their rotation to an AAU team:
More Beal: "…It’s not going to that one person that makes the ultimate difference. Everybody has to step their game up, elevate it and bring a lot more to the table.”

Beal's comments are certainly never an encouraging sign for a professional team. Washington's AAU-like rotation has produced some AAU-like results. They currently rank 11th in the Eastern Conference and have lost seven of their last 10 games. Of course, their struggles should come as no surprise given all the blows to their personnel.
Article Continues BelowThe Wizards recently traded young small forward Kelly Oubre Jr. and Austin Rivers for Trevor Ariza. Dwight Howard has missed most of the season with an injury. Otto Porter Jr. has been out for a while, and Markieff Morris is also banged up.
Meanwhile, things have taken a turn for the worst for John Wall as Washington just announced he will miss the rest of the season with a heel injury. All of this has ultimately led them to rely on a small rotation, which likely won't change moving forward.
On a positive note, Bradley Beal and the Wizards took home a 130-126 victory over the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday.
