Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal is hungry for a slice on this National Pizza Day.

Beal quote-tweeted Imo's Pizza, a joint in his hometown of St. Louis, dramatically emphasizing his desire for a pie.

Pizza would be nice. Wins would be better.

Much has been made about Beal's future with the Washington Wizards and his stick-to-itiveness in the midst of a difficult season. He would undoubtedly be a top target ahead of next month's deadline but instead appears intent on helping the Wizards getting the season back on track.

The Wizards halted a two-game skid Monday night against the Chicago Bulls despite missing Russell Westbrook, thanks mostly to Beal's relentless offensive attack. Beal scored 35 points and consistently got to the charity stripe, converting on 14 of his 15 free-throw attempts. Rui Hachimura pitched in with a double-double, scoring 19 points to go along with 10 rebounds.

Can the Wizards actually sustain the winning and string things together? Washington has an opportunity against a Toronto Raptors team struggling for answers on Wednesday, followed by a matchup with the New York Knicks on Friday.

One thing is for certain: the Wizards need to make strides in order to appease their star.

Beal has once again shouldered a heavy burden for a Washington team decimated by injuries and COVID-19 issues. He leads the NBA at 33.5 points per game and is also averaging 5.1 rebounds and 4.5 assists through his first 20 games.

The Wizards need more playmaking, ideally from a healthy Westbrook. But they also need better defensive efforts. Washington is dead-last in defensive scoring, and head coach Scott Brooks has to sort things out on that end.

It seems likely speculation will continue to follow Beal around through the deadline. In the meantime, he is thinking about getting a taste of home.
