The Washington Wizards made their selection in the 2022 NBA draft lottery, going with Wisconsin guard Johnny Davis with the 10th overall selection.
Davis is a physical scoring guard who can get a bucket in a variety of ways, somewhat like Washington's current All-Star guard in Bradley Beal.
Asked by ClutchPoints' Sam DiGiovanni about what he could potentially learn from his soon-to-be Wizards teammate, Johnny Davis asserted that he was open to learning everything under the sun:
“Basically anything. He's a really good player. Been watching him play for quite some time now. Especially just the way he scores the basketball. Watching him play with pace and shoot the ball is almost like looking at a work of art.”

If Johnny Davis could turn into a player like Bradley Beal, that would definitely be considered a win for the Wizards picking him in the latter half of the lottery.
Davis may be part of the future, but Washington still has the present to deal with given that Bradley Beal has reportedly declined the option for the final year of his contract. That leaves him either to sign a new deal with the Wizards or potentially be part of a sign-and-trade to a team willing to give up assets to acquire him.
